Bend Residence

The high desert and juniper forest outside of Bend is the setting for this new house. The relationship of the structure to the site was a key aspect of the design.

The majority of the house is contained on the first floor with front and rear courtyards. Sight lines to specific juniper trees were carefully integrated into the floor plan. The various zinc clad shed roofs step in and out over a curved stone wall. The off white stucco, deep overhangs and exposed beams contribute to the high desert modernism.
